As the founder of Checkatrade.com, I’ve spent years preaching the importance of due diligence, making sure you choose the right company and get the job done properly first time. So when I needed large quantities of skirting and architrave, I approached it exactly the same way.
I shortlisted three suppliers online, and one clearly stood out: Skirtech.
Because this was a substantial order, I decided to call rather than just click and buy. I spoke directly with Joe, the owner, who was immediately professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. We agreed a very fair discount, and I placed the order.
What really impressed me was what happened next.
Instead of simply processing the order, Joe personally reviewed it and spotted that I’d specified different depths for the skirting and the architrave, something that would have caused real problems on site. He rang me straight away to flag it. He was absolutely right, and I was hugely grateful. In my experience, 99% of companies would just fulfil the order and let you discover the mistake later. Skirtech didn’t. That level of care is rare.
On top of that, the products were manufactured and delivered very quickly, which made a big difference to our build programme.
